My research interest is in the relationship of clinical outcomes in Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy patients with their cardiac imaging findings. My clinical interests include, the care of patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, family history of sudden cardiac death, left ventricular hypertrophy, valvular heart disease, coronary artery disease and preoperative cardiac evaluation.

We are interested in the biology of phospholipids in cellular membrane networks. We use advanced molecular probes and imaging techniques to characterize membrane phospholipid dynamics in normal physiology and under pathological conditions. These research efforts lead to new discoveries in the fundamental roles of phospholipid membranes, and the development of diagnostic biomarkers for human diseases.

Dr. Khan is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases and holds active medical licensure in the state of Illinois. She received her medical degree from the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University in 2009 as part of the Honors Program in Medical Education. She completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, IL in 2012 and then served as Chief Medical Resident from 2012-2013. Dr. Lloyd-Jones attended Swarthmore College for his BA (Major in History), Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons for his MD, and Harvard School of Public Health for his Master of Science (Epidemiology). He was a resident, chief resident and cardiology fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital, and junior faculty at Harvard Medical School. In 2004, he moved to Northwestern and in 2009, he became Chair of the Department of Preventive Medicine. In 2012, he also became Senior Associate Dean for Clinical and Translational Research and Director of the NUCATS Institute.

Dr. Wilsbacher's research focuses on cardiac development and cardiomyocyte maintenance in the setting of pathological stress. Currently, the laboratory investigates the G protein-coupled receptor sphingosine-1-phosphate receptor 1 (S1Pr1) and its unexpected role in cardiomyocyte proliferation and cardiac development. Her research aims to identify the signaling mechanisms that underlie these cardiac developmental effects and to investigate whether S1Pr1 signaling contributes to cardiac remodeling in the adult heart.
